Saturday the 10th we flew out of Salt Lake to Denmark. One of the guys that works with me, Duane, traveled with me. We arrived in Copenhagen around 1pm on Sunday, stopping for a couple of hours in Chicago. The flight from Chicago to Copenhagen lasted about 8 hours. At some point we realized we didn't have the name of the hotel where we had reservations. We tried calling a few people from the Chicago, but couldn't reach anyone. When we arrived in Denmark we got on the internet to see if we had received any emails about where to go. We couldn't find any so we looked up our contact in the employee phone list to see if a cell phone was listed. Unfortunately the only person with a cell phone listed was someone we'd never worked with. So we called her to get the hotel name. We got through but after about a minute the phone cut out. We then spent another few minutes trying to figure out how the payphone worked. We finally got ahold of her and got the name of the hotel she didn't have the address but said it was right in front of the office. So we proceeded to ask information the best way to get there. We then boarded a train that took us out of the city. From there we were told to take a local bus or get a taxi. This whole time we were tired (I hadn't slept at all since Saturday) and pulling all our luggage around. We found a taxi and he spent a few minutes asking people where the address was. We set off, but he wasn't to confident. After about 30 minutes he finally arrived at the address we gave him. Only we realized that the address we'd gotten from the website was the wrong address. There was no Nu Skin building in sight. So we told the Taxi driver to just take us to a phone. He started arguing with us (he didn't speak any English) because he thought we were trying to tell him this wasn't the right address and he was insisting that we were indeed at the address we told him. We finally convinced him to drop us off by a phone. We again called the girl and found out they moved from that location 2 years ago! She was able to give us the correct address and we made it to the hotel around 5:30. It turns out that the hotel and Nu Skin office are only 10 minutes from the airport:-)

Work started around 8:15. The hotel had a nice continental breakfast. We got to the office and started our training/presentation around 9. We broke for lunch and then started another session at 1. We finally finished up and I stayed in the office until about 6 to catch up on some emails and other work. One of the managers in the office gave us some restaurants to try for dinner. We chose to go to Reef 'n Beef, an Australian restaurant. The menu was quite interesting. We wanted to try something exotic, but were worried it so we figured we'd be safe if we got one normal dish and then one exotic. Duane ordered the Crocodile medallions over Blue potatoes. I went with something safe, the steak. They had a small and a large steak so I ordered the large in case the crocodile wasn't edible. The weight was in grams so I didn't think too much about the size. Our orders arrived. The crocodile was actually good. It was a white meat, mostly the texture of a chicken breast, but with a slight fish taste. The blue potatoes were indeed blue, the outside skin was pretty much black and the inside was dark, dark blue. Now let me tell you about my steak. The steak I ordered was a 1000g cut of beef. That translates to a 36 oz piece of meat. Well this wasn't a steak, this was a medium sized animal. I've never seen such a huge piece of meat. Think of the roast that mom would cook on Sundays, imagine that whole thing on your plate with a few potatoes (regular) to garnish. So that was quite the experience. (this is less than half of the steak. It was about 3 inches thick, then about 4 x 7 inches)

Tuesday we had another round of meetings. We left the office around 4:30 to try to catch a tour boat that was going to take us through the canals of Copenhagen. The traffic prevented that, so we ended up driving to a few sights. Then we went to a place called Tivoli. It is like an amusement park, but higherclass. There are nice restaurants all over the place. It was really cool. They are celebrating Hans Christian Andersen's 200 birthday here in Denmark so they has a big show that evening. The 'actors' where huge puppets worn on people backs. We didn't understand any of it, but it was cool. We went on a rollercoaster called the demon, I got a picture of me holding on for dear life, I'll have to scan it in sometime and post it. We also ate at a little restaurant overlooking a little lake in the center of the park.

It is now Wednesday. We had a few more meetings this morning and now we are just typing up our reports and getting everything ready to head to Hungary tonight. We'll be in Budapest until Sunday morning and then return home.
